What are the benefits of RiskChallenger and why is it time to leave Excel behind? We asked one of our most valued clients: RO-ADviseurs! Read the interview with Marc Menger (owner) and Conny Haupt (lead risk management) here.

What was the deciding factor for RO-ADviseurs to manage risk with RiskChallenger?

Conny: "Before joining RO-ADviseurs, I was employed by Balance. This is where I first came into contact with RiskChallenger's risk management software. I thought this was an incredibly cool system back then and that has stayed with me. For RO-ADviseurs, we didn't see any other risk management software that better suits our needs"

Marc: "For us, the risk manager is the 6th IPM role; a prominent role in the IPM team and with that we also wanted a risk management system that 'looks good'."

Risk management in Excel versus RiskChallenger Software.  

Conny: "When I started my first project as risk manager at RO-ADviseurs, I immediately made the choice not to process risks in confusing Excel files. RiskChallenger was the solution for us because managing risks is made simple and clear by clear reports, filters and a simple dashboard.

Now we have incredibly useful functionalities such as the brainstorming session when creating a new risk file and joint voting on the impact of certain risks. RiskChallenger's tool makes our risk management, visual, interactive and efficient. I wouldn't want to work with any other system."

Have you also looked at competitors of RiskChallenger?

Conny: "Over the past few years, I have come across a number of systems at clients during my work, but only RiskChallenger has the functionality we need in our projects."

What are examples of projects where RiskChallenger was indispensable?

Marc: "We basically always use RiskChallenger when we are responsible for risk management. We have used it in our IPM projects for Rijkswaterstaat, provinces, municipalities and in the energy sector. It was also used in the preparation of the new construction of an office building."

What are the benefits since you started working with RiskChallenger's software?

Marc: "RiskChallenger's software gives our risk management additional shape. We collect risks from the interactive brainstorming functionality, we see all risks and measures clearly in an overview, and we work through them. We find that the whole risk management process runs smoothly. We are in control. That works incredibly nicely. Our risk managers sometimes say, "I don't have so much to do anymore!"."

Conny: "Yet another advantage is that we now have everything within one tool. This means we no longer have to retype anything. The risks from the brainstorming session come directly into the risk file where we can link the appropriate measure and track progress.

Because a deadline can be linked to the management measures and the RiskChallenger sends reminders in advance, the chance of missed deadlines is significantly reduced. There is an overview in the dashboard where everyone can see which measures a reminder has been sent for and whose deadline has passed."

What grade do you give RiskChallenger?

Conny: "A 9. It always works well, and if I am at a loss as to what to do, you are always there for support. It's also great that the app is constantly being developed and that we can pass on wishes regarding extra functionality."

Marc: "The control and grip that the software offers is extremely important to us."
