Risk management consultant with civil engineering background
Who are we?
RiskChallenger is a niche player in the risk management market, whose service and product is ‘Communicative Risk Management’. Primary markets are organisations working in the contracting, energy, central government, decentralised government, healthcare and/or water management sectors. Currently, we are broadening and entering new markets. We are a leading consultancy in the infrastructure sector, specialising in managing complex projects in both the public and private sectors. Our focus is on improving project management and minimising risks to make projects successful and safe. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a communicatively strong and experienced (5+ years) Risk Management Consultant with a background in construction, infrastructure or civil engineering.
What will you do?
As a Risk Management Advisor, you play a crucial role in the identification, analysis and mitigation of risks within technical projects and organisations. You will work closely with project managers, engineers and other stakeholders to ensure that risk management is applied effectively in every project phase. Not only do you have a keen eye for technical details, but you also know how to communicate complex risk issues in a clear way to different stakeholders. You are able to ‘hover over the project’ and look at the risks from all angles and interests. Your responsibilities at a glance:
- As an experienced consultant in our organisation, be the walking wikipedia(sparring partner) for all your colleagues;
- Train juniors, mentor mediore colleagues and train client staff;
- Identify and analyse risks in large and/or complex infrastructure projects;
- Develop risk management strategies and plans in collaboration with project teams;
- Supervising and advising project teams in implementing risk management measures;
- Monitoring project risks throughout the project lifecycle and adjusting control measures when necessary;
- Effectively communicating risk analyses and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders;
- Contributing to the improvement of risk management processes within in-house and client organisations.

What do we ask?
- A completed Bachelor or PhD degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field;
- At least 5 years of experience in risk management, preferably in the engineering, infrastructure or construction sector;
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate complex technical information in an understandable way;
- Strong analytical skills and experience with risk analysis tools and methods;
- Proactive attitude and the ability to work both independently and in a team;
- Good command of the Dutch and English languages, both oral and written.
