Why did you choose RiskChallenger? What prompted you to use our tool?

Maarten: "Before we started working with RiskChallenger's tool, we did everything in Excel. In an evaluation with our risk management team, it emerged that working in Excel did not produce enough for the time it took. It was also seen as an annoying obligation that was quickly abandoned when the workload increased. For these reasons, we looked into various ways to improve risk management, in particular using a new tool instead of Excel.  

In 2019, we started testing different risk management tools. Our goal? To get project staff more involved in risk management, enthuse them, and make them more risk-aware. We were also looking for an easy and better way to generate analyses and reports.  

RiskChallenger came out on top with this test. In particular, the communicative approach to risk management that RiskChallenger's tool brings is of great value."

In which projects do you use RiskChallenger?

Maarten: "We actually always use RiskChallenger. At Delfland, we have 3 asset lines: water safety, water chain and water system. Interactive risk sessions are held for all our projects using RiskChallenger."

What are the specific components you guys use from the software?

Maarten: "When we have a new project, we always look at previous sessions to get knowledge from them. RiskChallenger makes this easy and clear. We also use the interactive aspect a lot; our goal was to involve employees in risk sessions and make the overall process more interactive. With RiskChallenger, all project employees simply participate via their smartphones and contribute positively to the process."

What does using RiskChallenger actually deliver for you?

Maarten: "It saves time. When I started at Delfland, everything was in Excel files on a hard disk. This meant a lot of copies had to be made and we actually couldn't see the wood for the trees with all the different projects, files and papers. With RiskChallenger, everything is online and 24/7, directly and easily retrievable. So not only does this make it much clearer, but you are also not time- or location-bound.  

The risk sessions also deliver qualitatively more compared to the previous method, while saving time. This again, because the sessions are interactive and it is easy for all project staff to contribute simultaneously."

If you had to sum up our tool and our service to a rating 0-10, what rating would you give RiskChallenger?

Maarten: "A 9! The tool is of great value to us. In addition, you are always available for questions and problems. You take suggestions for new functionalities seriously and then you actually do something with them."
